Rice Cooking function is good as expected. However, I’m upset because I paid for new unit and received a used/retuned unit with paper towel insert and cooking residual.

The pot worked as expected and does have a tendency to sputter and bubble out through the cover lid vent. That would be acceptable but we returned it as the pot is not solid stainless steel. It is plated and the interior plating started to flake off after only a couple of uses.into the food.

I am a Chinese man who does a lot of Chinese cooking. It was time for me to get a new rice cooker and this one seemed to have good ratings and a design that made sense. Boy was I wrong.
The lid that you see in the picture has a hole in it in order to release steam.

Well, it is a year old and the plastic hook that secures the lid in the closed position just broke, therefore it doesn’ close. This hood should be made of metal or of a thicker plastic.
So I went to a hardware store and bought the clamp in the two pictures I post here.

We received our warrant replacement unit from the manufacturer…and after only a couple uses - it is constantly clicking off before cooking is finished, and it is emitting electrical smoke badly!
After all the hassles we went through (described below) to get the replacement..we won’t go there again.

I have used this product many times. It cooks rice OK. After the rice was done, I would wipe off the inside top of the rice cooker with a paper towel or sponge to remove the residue left behind. Today, I got it out to make some quinoa, and it was coated inside with fuzzy mold.

This is a standard rice cooker, and has a nonstick coated metal interior. It is not ceramic.
I had to use it for an event the day it arrived, so it’s not eligible for a return. However, I ordered it expressly because the title of the product says Ceramic. This is a disappointing purchase.

This is the third time that my black and decker rice cooker burnt itself out during normal operation! I have been buying it again and again simply due to its low price, thinking that the failure is a statistical inevitability, but in this case the product manufacturing is certainly FAULTY!

It went on it’s cycle, ended up beeping, and showed us that it just got the water warmed…. Like it did in everyone else’s one star review.
